Special Buildings and Works
An important event in the history of Lisbon and in the growth of ENGEXPOR was Expo 98, the last world fair of the 20th century. In collaboration with the government ENGEXPOR coordinated and managed the construction of the Portugal Pavilion and of other main buildings developed within the ambit of the fair.

CFMA – CENTRO DE FORMAÇÃO MARÍTIMA DE ANGOLA
CFMA represents an investment in the education and formation of the new cadetes for the SONANGOL Shiipping. It is a Universitary Campus, in Sumbe – Angola. Engexpor is iinvolved in the Project and Construction Management of this Educational Development.
REPAIR AND CONVERSION OF THE OLIVAIS DOCK
The dock which was once used a base for the flying boat service between the UK and South Africa was converted into a centre piece of Expo’98. In it was built the Lisbon Oceanarium, and the Portugal Pavilion was next to it. A path was built between the dock and the river which provides good views of the whole area.
THE PORTUGAL PAVILION
One of the special buildings of Expo, the pavilion was designed by the award winning architect Siza Vieira. Over the external plaza is a 100x50 metre concrete canopy which is a magnificent piece of engineering. The building and the plaza were used as the main reception and celebration point throughout the exhibition.
