Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado Airport is undergoing a major renovation and improvement programme aimed at enhancing the passenger experience, increasing operational efficiency and meeting the highest sustainability standards. This structural intervention reinforces Humberto Delgado Airport’s role as a strategic infrastructure for national and international mobility, promoting a more sustainable and innovative future for Lisbon.
The project, promoted by ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal | VINCI Airports, includes the construction of the new 33,000 m² South Pier and 10 new boarding bridges, as well as the remodelling of the current Central Pier and the South Busgate area. This expansion will reduce the number of buses on the apron, ensure more convenient and direct boarding and increase the airport’s capacity to handle a greater number of flights and passengers. The new South Pier has been designed to guarantee high levels of environmental performance, through solutions such as the use of natural lighting, photovoltaic panels and efficient air conditioning systems, with the aim of obtaining LEED Gold certification.
Engexpor is leading the management, coordination and supervision of the construction of this emblematic project, guaranteeing compliance with the highest standards of quality, safety and sustainability. This is the third major project entrusted to Engexpor by VINCI Airports, after Salvador de Bahia International Airport and the Northern Block comprising seven airports in Brazil, reinforcing our position as a strategic partner in the airport sector.
