Known for being the most Portuguese of breweries for more than 90 years, Portugália was founded on June 10, 1925, at Avenida Almirante Reis, in Lisbon, and its inauguration was front-page news.
The beer, considered the best in Portugal, was the main attraction for the public, but it also boasted seafood and its famous beef, which quickly became the house’s signature dish. Over several decades, this space stood out for being one of the most relaxed and bohemian meeting places for students, artists, sports players and journalists.
The beginning of the expansion of the Portugália Brewery concept to turn it into a restaurant chain took place in 1997. Engexpor played its part in this historic event for the brand by carrying out the project and works management for some of its new spaces
