Aliados 107

Situated in the heart of the centennial Avenida dos Aliados, the noblest and most majestic avenue in Porto, is Aliados 107. A building of great historical importance, designed by architects Rogério de Azevedo and Baltazar de Castro, it was built in 1930 to house the old “O Comércio do Porto” newspaper.

Its architecture blends art-deco and expressionist influences, marked by striking vertical pillars that run along the entire façade and eight grandiose female statues in granite that overlook the avenue. The circular entrance welcomes visitors into a marble decorated hall with imposing ironwork doors, while its interior boasts a magnificent iron-framed stained-glass window that depicts still lifes. At the top, a tiled roof with a turret imposes its presence on the whole Avenue, characterized exactly by the grandeur of its selection of architectural styles right in the center of Porto.

During this building’s renovation, we completely preserved its monumental architecture and all its artistic elements. In the interior, the contemporary, elegant and sober apartments, together with fine materials and the refined finishes, ensure all the modern comforts required today. The 4 ground-floor stores promise to further enhance the avenue’s charm and sophistication.
