Engexpor was responsible for the project management and procurement process for the selection of contractors for the plant that the British multinational Ineos Automotive planned to build in the municipality of Estarreja for the production of its new off-road model, named Grenadier.
The car factory complex project had a construction area of more than 100.000 m² spread over four buildings, designed to ensure different functions in the development of the Grenadier, namely assembly, painting, and workshop, in addition to a central body where the offices would be installed.
The building phase of the project was not initiated due to changing market conditions that forecast a reduction production in automotive sector, resulting in Ineos opting to produce the Grenadier in a factory that was already in production, thereby taking advantage of the installed technical capacity and experienced workforce.
