Morro do Chapéu Wind Farm

The Morro do Chapéu Sul Wind Farm extends over the municipalities of Morro do Chapéu and Cafarnaum, in the Chapada Diamantina region. Composed of six wind farms and a total installed capacity of 172 MW, the complex is able to generate more than 830GWh per year, enough to meet the energy needs of more than 320,000 Brazilian homes, which reduces annual CO2 emissions by around 225,000 tons.

The development was awarded to Enel, through its Brazilian renewable energy subsidiary, Enel Green Power Brasil. It strengthens its commitment to increasing sustainable energy production in Brazil, and puts the Creating Shared Value – CSV model into practice. This model associates business development with the needs of the local community, in particular by carrying out initiatives that create opportunities for people and businesses located around Morro do Chapéu do Sul.

Engexpor was honored to be chosen, once again, to work on this large and prestigious project for Enel, by contributing our know-how to the growth of renewable energy.
