Avenida Infante D. Henrique

To host Expo’98, in Lisbon, we participated in several important works, including those of Avenida Infante D. Henrique. The works involved the depression of the avenue and the construction of the viaduct and tunnel beginning at Praça José Queirós [Square].

Avenida Infante Dom Henrique is the largest in Lisbon, measuring about 12 km and where traffic is almost always along the river. It is one of the principal accesses to the city’s downtown and historical area from the municipalities to the north, and its original construction dates back to 1930.

The avenue begins at the IC2 extension, in the tunnel under José Queirós Square, passing through Parque das Nações [Square], where it heads toward the river at Praça 25 de Abril [Square], crossing through the entire old industrial zone of Lisbon and ending at the charismatic Praça do Comércio [Square].
