Installed in the space previously occupied by the Pavilhão do Futuro, built from scratch for Expo’98, the Casino de Lisboa is located in Parque das Nações, one of the most modern areas in the capital along the Rio Tejo.
For its construction, it took 3.000 tons of steel, 1.700 cubic meters of concrete, 5.400 square meters of glass for the facades and 170 kilometers of electric cables, with 400 men per shift working on the site. The final result is mirrored in its avant-garde and surprising architecture and in the aesthetic options which give shape to the interior, marked by originality.
Internationally known, the Casino de Lisboa stands out today for its wide range of shows, exhibitions and other cultural initiatives, playing a key role in the tourism dynamization of the city. The grand Oceans Auditorium, the Arena Lounge, several bars, an art gallery and two restaurants provide entertainment and unique experiences to the approximately two million annual visitors of this equipment.
The management of the project and work was in charge of Engexpor, which ensured the levels of accuracy applied to a work of such magnitude.
