It was one of the successful entertainment pieces at Expo’98 and it continues to be a “must visit” location for Lisbonites and the thousands of tourists who visit Lisbon. The cable car was inaugurated in 1998, with its project and construction managed by Engexpor.
The cable car has 40 enclosed cabins with automatic doors, suspended over 9 pillars of varied heights. Each cabin can transport 8 passengers on two benches.
The cable car rides last around 12 minutes and travels 1,230 meters, between the blue sky and the stunning scenery of the Tagus and Parque das Nações. On a journey that runs along the river, between the Passeio de Neptuno and the Passeio das Tágides, visitors can see some of the most sites and places in the area, including the Torre Vasco da Gama, Oceanário, Doca dos Olivais, Pavilhão de Portugal and the current Altice Arena.
