Located in Minas Gerais, in the region known as the “Mining Triangle”, Uberlândia Shopping is named after the city where it stands. The opening of this sophisticated, unique shopping centre represented an important milestone for the region, by offering new shopping, cultural and leisure experiences.
An imposing building located in a high spot in Uberlândia, the shopping centre stands out for its innovative design, inspired by the exuberant greenery and natural features of the Cerrado region. In order to make the most of natural light and minimise energy consumption, the building features large glass panels and about 800 m² of “green walls”, covered with vegetation. Glass walls and an outdoor terrace in the food court afford a panoramic view of the city.
A series of eco-friendly solutions have also been implemented, namely the use of LED lights, which reduce energy consumption by 80%, compared with traditional lights.
The adoption of solutions aimed at minimising environmental impact earned Uberlândia Shopping a joint certification (ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001) for its integrated Health, Safety & Environmental Management System during the construction stage, granted by international consulting firm Lloyds Register Quality.
