We help leading investors turn projects into successful commercial ventures
We started operating in the shopping centre segment in 1993, as Coimbra Shopping, a pioneering new-generation shopping venue and the first we oversaw, opened its doors to the public. At the time, Engexpor was a young company with less than 10 years of experience in project and construction management.
Since then, the shopping centre segment has grown and earned an excellent reputation abroad, as leading Portuguese entrepreneurs engaged in a remarkably successful internationalisation process.
This path reflects our own history in the shopping centre segment. We helped drive growth from the very beginning by working together with renowned entrepreneurs that undertook the building and development of the biggest shopping centres across the country and subsequently expanded their operations to other European countries, namely Romania, Italy and Spain, as well as Brazil. Driven by the strong momentum currently experienced in Brazil, where shopping centre construction and renovation is booming, we continue to grow and enjoy a strong reputation as one of the most prestigious and best-known companies in the country.
The knowledge and experience we have acquired over more than two decades of managing the construction of new shopping centres and the expansion and/or renovation of existing facilities are key in enabling us to generate value for our clients. Our profound insight into our clients’ needs, goals and aspirations gives us the capabilities we need to turn their projects into successful ventures that meet the highest quality standards.
It is precisely this approach that has earned us the trust of entrepreneurs, as we know that by helping to build inspiring shopping venues, able to offer a unique experience to shoppers, we are indeed improving performance, efficiency and profitability.
And this is also the reason why some of the most prominent developers have chosen to partner with our company, namely Sonae Sierra, MDC, Inter IKEA Center Group, Chamartin Inmobiliaria, Bouygues Imobiliária, Mundicenter, Ceetrus (formerly Immocham) and Jereissati Centros Comerciais, amongst others.
